As a fourth-generation attorney in Greenville, SC, Cleburne has deep roots in the community. He was raised in Greenville, attending J.L. Mann High School, where he played lacrosse. Cleburne graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government in 2015 and earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2020.
Cleburne values servant leadership highly, believing that being an attorney provides a unique opportunity to explain complex legal processes and advocate for individuals during challenging times.
Prior to joining The Clardy Law Firm in 2024, Cleburne worked in the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, where he served as an Assistant Solicitor in the Pickens Office for three years. During his tenure, he managed a General Sessions caseload that included prosecuting cases ranging from violent crimes to misdemeanors. He has first-chair General Sessions Circuit Court trial experience and has tried multiple jury trials to verdict in both General Sessions and Magistrate Court. He also successfully restarted and implemented the Transfer Court program in Pickens and served as the Pickens Juvenile Prosecutor. Prior to his work at the Solicitor’s Office, Cleburne was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Letitia H. Verdin.
Cleburne was admitted to the South Carolina Bar, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2021. He is also a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ), the South Carolina Bar Association, and the Greenville County Bar Association.
In his free time, he enjoys exploring downtown Greenville’s coffee shops and restaurants. He also enjoys attending concerts, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Wofford Terriers. Cleburne attends Downtown Presbyterian Church and coaches one of their high school church basketball teams.
