James Bonner Snyder, “Bonner,” is a second-generation Greenville attorney. He was raised in Greenville, attending Greenville High where he played lacrosse. Bonner graduated from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina in 2019. He earned his Juris Doctorate Degree at the Charleston School of Law in 2023.
Bonner’s experiences through sports and The Citadel, which is often referred to as the “leadership lab of South Carolina,” have educated him in the skills of leadership and followership, both of which are vital to serving our clients. Bonner admires and upholds the spirit of The Clardy Law Firm, which includes treating all with the utmost respect and choosing the harder right rather than the easier wrong. Bonner exemplifies this spirit in his representation of our clients through open and honest communication and vigorous advocacy.
Prior to joining The Clardy Law Firm in 2024, Bonner was a law clerk for the Honorable Steven H. DeBerry of the 12th Circuit in Florence. During his time as a law clerk, he sat closely by Judge DeBerry during many trials. Judge DeBerry instilled immense legal knowledge onto Bonner with his greatest lesson being “the devil is in the details.” Bonner considers Judge DeBerry his greatest teacher.
Bonner was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2023. He is also an active member of the Greenville County Bar Association. He enjoys Greenville Bar events and having all of Greenville’s legal minds in a room to discuss complex legal questions and case strategy.
In his free time, he enjoys all Greenville has to offer. Bonner has a genuine curiosity in others and loves meeting new people and hearing their life stories. He also enjoys attending football games, time in the woods, playing golf, and a social gathering of any kind. Most of all, Bonner loves reuniting with all of his Citadel classmates and cheering on the Bulldogs.
